Huddle

Huddle

A shared, mobile-first app for the ward's weekly coordination meeting.

A ward's weekly missionary coordination meeting should take twenty minutes, and everybody should leave with their own list. Nobody should have to write it up afterwards.

What it does

Before the meeting

Anyone in the meeting can drop an item in from their phone during the week, in about twenty seconds. Open assignments carry forward on their own. The agenda builds itself, so nobody has to prepare one.

During the meeting

One item on screen at a time, timeboxed. Nothing leaves an item without an owner and a date. That is the whole meeting — and it means nobody is taking minutes while everyone else talks.

After the meeting

Everybody already has their own list, because they took it as the item was assigned. What is left is the follow-up, and Huddle is what remembers it.

What it deliberately does not do

Huddle stores the commitment, not the confidence. It records who is doing what by when. It does not become a case file: sensitive detail stays in the conversation, where it belongs.

There is no roster import and no membership sync. Every name was typed by a leader, by hand, for somebody the ward is actively helping. Stake leadership sees rhythm only — whether a huddle happened, how many items are open, how old they are — with no names and no notes. Access ends automatically when a calling ends.

Full-time missionaries, and Google

Missionaries usually cannot reach another website, but they can reach Google Sheets. So a ward can choose to share a workbook with its missionaries, and Huddle uses Google Drive, Docs and Forms to create that workbook, share it with the missionaries' area address, and read back what they fill in.

Only names, assignments and dates ever cross that line — never notes, never the meeting's read on a family, never outreach history. The Privacy page lists exactly what is permitted to leave and what never does.

Who it is for

The room in a ward's weekly missionary coordination meeting: the ward mission leader — or the member of the elders quorum presidency who fills that role — assigned members of the Relief Society, elders quorum and Primary presidencies, the ward missionaries, the youth quorum and class representatives, and the full-time missionaries. Access is by invitation from someone already there. Huddle is operated independently. It is not a product of, endorsed by, or affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and it does not connect to any official Church system.
